AT&T Supports the USNS Mercy

The USNS Mercy, a 1,000 bed naval medical treatment facility with operating rooms and multiple diagnostic labs, is serving as a referral hospital to alleviate stress on hospitals in Los Angeles.

Cell-On-Wheels (COW) deployed by FirstNet to help support the USNS Mercy.

With advance collaboration with the Navy, AT&T installed and activated a land-to-ship connection within hours of docking in the Port of Los Angeles. The AT&T fiber connection allows the medical community to remain in sync with other hospitals and patients as well as support critical IT capabilities for staff.  AT&T FirstNet has also deployed a Cell-On-Wheels (COW) to support the ship.
