AT&T is proud to have the nation’s best and also fastest wireless network,1 as well as the largest network in North America.2 From 2017-2019, we invested more than $3.1 billion in our wireless and wireline networks in Greater Los Angeles to expand coverage and improve connectivity in more communities.
That investment has increased reliability, coverage and overall performance for residents and businesses, which is essential for connecting our customers with family, friends and colleagues – no matter the distance. It’s also improved critical communications services for Greater Los Angeles first responders using the FirstNet network.
The investment includes nearly $2.8 billion in Los Angeles and Orange counties, more than $400 million in Riverside and San Bernardino counties and nearly $90 million in Ventura County.
Today, our 4G LTE network covers more than 330 million people.3 That’s more than 2.61 million square miles and over 99% of all Americans.4
We also expanded access to high-speed internet in Greater Los Angeles by building more than 700,000 additional fiber connections.
"We have also enhanced critical services that support public safety and first responders using the FirstNet communications platform."Mike Silacci, Assistant Vice President of External Affairs - AT&T California
“AT&T’s continued investment in our network in the Greater Los Angeles area shows our commitment to keeping our businesses competitive while also providing residents and visitors with the tools to stay connected and entertained,” said Mike Silacci, assistant vice president of External Affairs for AT&T California. “We have also enhanced critical services that support public safety and first responders using the FirstNet communications platform.”

And we take our responsibility to deliver FirstNet seriously.
Building upon our current and planned investments in Greater Los Angeles, we continue to extend the reach, and increase the coverage, capacity and capabilities of the FirstNet network:
The FirstNet network expansion in Greater Los Angeles is being done with direct feedback from state and public safety officials. This helps ensure FirstNet meets the short- and long-term needs of the public safety community.
